松王山　本光寺　縁起
備中 成羽 本光寺のホームページにお越しいただきありがとうございます。

当山は､永禄2年(1559年) 3月12日、清水宗堅は宝樹院日慈上人を招いて開山しました。
元禄4年(1691)出石屋喜右衛門の発願により焼失した諸堂を改築。さらに、川上町領家にあった庵明寺が檀徒少数であったので、当寺に合併、御本尊もお迎し安置しています。

本堂にある太鼓は｢時報太鼓｣と呼ばれ、成羽城主の山崎氏が御殿晋請のとき太鼓丸にて打ち鳴らされ、仕事始め、休憩、昼食などの合図に使われていました。

(1582年に清水宗治は高松城水攻めで切腹する)

大原孫三郎の依頼を受けた画家、檀家の児島虎次郎は、絵画買い付けのため数度欧州に渡り多くの作品を購入しました。この収集品が後の大原美術館建設の礎となります。
今は当山墓地にて静かに故郷を見守っています。

Thank you for visiting the homepage of Bitchu Nariwa Honkouji temple.
The temple was built on March 12, 1559, and Munekata Shimizu opened the temple by inviting Saint Hojuin-Nitiji.
Various halls that had been destroyed were reconstructed by the application of Kiemon Izushiya in 1691. Furthermore, there was a small number of supporters of Anmyoji  temple in Kawakami-cho Ryoke,which was taken over by Honkouji temple.The principal image of Anmyoji temple is enshrined at Honkouji temple.The taiko in the main hall was called “Jihou Daiko”. It was used to signal the start of work breaks, lunch, etc. when Mr. Yamasaki was entrusted to the palace, and was later used for the palace time signal. (In 1582, Muneharu Shimizu committed seppuku during the Bitchu Takamatsu Castle water attack.)

​The painter, Torajiro Kojima, who received a request from Magozaburou Ohara, purchased many works across Europe several times. This collection was the foundation for the later construction of the Ohara Museum of Art. Now, in death, he watches over his home Honkouji temple.

お経を一文字一文字丁寧に書き写すことで心を落ち着け、自らの心のあり方を見つめる良い機会になります。

Why don’t you copy at the temple?

Since 2017, Honkouji temple has been promoting gratitude and gratitude as part of the 800th anniversary of the birth of Saint Nichiren Daishonin. Copying is one of the practices of Buddhism to calm the mind. It is an opportunity to calm down and carefully look at your own mind by copying the passage carefully.

郷土料理「野山丼」
当山檀家で、老舗旅館を営んでいた野山屋さんで人気だった元祖豆腐飯。

数々の有名グルメ番組（フォトギャラリー内参照）や雑誌にも取り上げられ、取材された芸能人の舌もうならせてきましたが、旅館の廃業とともに豆腐飯もやめられました。
しかし、せっかくの成羽名物なので野山屋さん監修のもと新たに豆腐飯「野山丼」として当山本光寺で復活致します。

豆腐を「ゆでる」「絞る」「炒める」「裏ごしをする」という4工程を丁寧に施して作る滑らかな食感は「まるで淡雪のよう」とも評されました。(月刊OSERAより)その回りを5色の具材で彩り、特製お出汁をた〜っぷりかけてご賞味頂きます。

どうぞ空気の澄み渡った文化・芸術の香る山あいにて、ヘルシーな成羽名物の郷土料理をお楽しみください。

＊その昔、豆腐飯は野山（今の吉備中央町大和）本迹寺(ほんじゃくじ)で精進料理としてだされていた。
その檀家に野山屋さんの本家妹尾家があり、本迹寺で豆腐飯を勉強され野山屋に持ち帰り成羽名物となった。

This original tofu rice was devised by Noyamaya which was an inn established by a family at the the temple.
Many famous gourmet programs (see photo gallery) and magazines featured the celebrities who were interviewed. However, since it is a specialty of Nariwa, it will be reviewed at Honkouji temple "Noyama bowl" under the supervision of Noyamaya.
The smooth texture created by carefully performing the four processes of tofu “boil”, “squeeze”, “fry” and “purify” was also described as “almost like light snow”. (From the monthly OSERA) The surrounding area is colored with five colors of ingredients and you can Enjoy it with plenty of special soup stock.

＊A long time ago, tofu rice was served as a devoted dish at Honjakuji Temple in Noyama (now Yamato, Kibichuo Town).
The Dan family had the Noyamaya’s head family, the Seno family, who studied tofu rice at Honjoji and took it back to Noyamaya to become a specialty of Nariwa.
